Kid Kirby fürs :snes:
DMA Design, the studio that went on to become Rockstar North and a primary developer of the Grand Theft Auto series, was put in charge of the project. It would have featured the SNES Mouse add-on with players using the device to launch Kirby through levels.

Yuji Naka hat angeblich keine Schuld daran, dass das erste 3D Sonic für den :sat: gecancelt wurde.
He follows up with ‘NiGHTS’s program was so special that it’s impossible to use it for anything, and I have never even heard of anyone wanting to use it,’ essentially claiming he was never asked to begin with, though his first comment shows he wouldn’t have shared it if asked anyway.

Das Zelda Spin-off Heroes of Hyrule von den Retro Studios ist nie erschienen.
The game would have a story involving three heroes that lived 100 years in the past: a Goron, a Rito, and a Zora. The trio actually went on a mission to save Link. Link himself was actually captured while trying to rescue Princess Zelda from Ganon. That’s where the three heroes come in. Eventually 100 years pass, and Link becomes an old man that owns an antiquities shop.

Interessantes Video, und es legt auch ein wenig nahe, dass die Nintendo-Führung ein wichtiger Faktor dabei war, dass die Metroid und DKC-Spiele so exzellent geworden sind.

Indeed, the game is described in the document as a hybrid of a more traditional Zelda game and a tactical RPG, with several mechanics and design decisions leaning into this concept. For instance, while traditional RPG stats would exist, leveling up as a concept would be mostly absent, with the focus instead being on obtaining items such as Pieces of Heart that you would use to increase stats. Items would also be multi-purpose, having uses not only in combat but also for exploration and puzzle-solving, reflecting their uses in more traditional Zelda titles. Finally, both the past and present gameplay would be tied together, with certain information acquired, actions performed, or items obtained in one of the two eras providing benefits or unlocking progress in the other.

Wenn ich ehrlich bin, ist mir Retro Studios sowieso etwas suspekt. Haben seit bald 9 Jahren kein richtig neues Spiel mehr rausgebracht und haben von Nintendo nicht einmal das Ok bekommen, auch nur eines von zwei gecancelten Zelda-Spielen zu machen. Werden die 120 Mitarbeiter von Nintendo einfach aus Spaß an der Freude durchgefüttert, oder hat das Studio überhaupt noch irgendeinen Stellenwert?

Das klingt imo sehr interessant, hätte ich vermutlich sehr gern gespielt. Schade drum.

Neuigkeiten zum gecancelten Pokemon Pinball für den :nds:
Players would progress along the route and different Pokemon would pop up on the table, including Diglett bumpers and Pikachu on a tree. After hitting a Pokemon with the ball to stun it, you’d use the touch screen to tap on the Pokemon to catch it. You’d have to be quick about it, otherwise it’d recover and escape. There’d be a timer that’d eventually hit zero, meaning you’d reach the next city.
